i dont know much about digital camera's so please be descriptive and clear

Stick with cameras that use SD memory cards.

That rules out Sony, but opens up the possibility of a Nikon, Casio, Panasonic, Canon or Samsung.

That said the specifications you listed are good and I would add one more item to them ... Image stabilization.

Articles and News With References to 16mb Pro Duo Memory Sticks

Memory cards are one of the most popular digital camera accessories available today. They've made picture taking and printing fast and convenient. No need to buy a film and have it processed after use to create the photographs. With a memory card, you just keep clicking to take photos of the great things you want to capture.

A memory card allows you to store a huge number of photos in your digital camera. It isn't ideal to just rely on your camera's built-in memory because by the time you know it, your storage space has already been used up.

Originally, the memory card was available only in one format and that was the CompactFlash. But other formats eventually appeared and you will get to know them here. In terms of physical sizes, this digital camera accessory has gone from big to small and not the other way around. However, even as it has gotten smaller, its storage capacity has grown bigger.

The CompactFlash has a 32 MB storage capacity. It is very flexible because it can be used in digital cameras, MP3 players and embedded systems. This is available in the Type 1 and Type 2 variants. The difference between the two is in the thickness.

The Memory Stick is another type of memory card created by Sony. The original design comes in a 128 MB capacity. This uses a serial interface to move data from the host to the card.

From there, Sony came up with a new card called the Memory Stick PRO. This has a larger storage capacity up to 1 GB but is still compatible with the pioneer Memory Stick.

Sony did not stop at PRO because it continued to create the Memory Stick Duo and Memory Stick Pro Duo. These two, however, are smaller versions of the Memory Stick. The Duo is strongly recommended to digital cameras for longer storage card usage.

Still another Sony innovation is the MagicGate which uses a copy-protection technology known as the digital rights management (DRM). This particular memory card uses encryption to store data on the card and lets the owner control the way the files are copied or transferred from the card.

The Secure Digital (SD) card can be used in many devices including digital cameras, digital video camcorders and mobile phones. It has storage sizes from 16 MB to 1 GB. This even has a mini version commonly used in mobile phones.

The SmartMedia cards were among the first to be introduced by Toshiba but are no longer widely used today.

There's also the MultiMediaCard (MMC) created by SanDisk and Siemens in 1997. This is smaller but thicker than the SmartMedia cards. Compared to the Sony-made ones, this has not gained much popularity especially among the masses.

If you value digital camera accessories, you should have a memory card right in your camera all the time. So go get an extra memory card as much as possible and click away to keep those memories with you.
