will i be able to recover/backup my files from the hard drive?
i had a laptop with a SATA 2.5 HDD and i bought an external enclosure a few months back to turn it into an external HDD. i plugged it into my desktop via USB and all it did was turn on. nothing showed up on my computer. the desktop has an IDE 3.5 HDD. i just bought a USB 2.0 to IDE SATA 5.25 S-ATA/2.5/3.5 Adaptor Cable for my SATA 2.5 HDD. will it matter if i plug this cable from my SATA 2.5 HDD to my IDE HDD Desktop Computer?
i don't really understand your question. if you are worried about copying files to and from your laptop sata hdd to your desktop computer with an ide hdd. if so then it doesn't matter.
