Why can’t I get ALL pictures onto my 2GB memory card with an external card reader?
I’m trying to load a couple hundred pictures onto a 2GB SD card. About half of them will transfer then I can’t get anymore on. An error message of ‘Can’t create a directory for file “Named Picture”’ comes up and then the transfer stops. Even after removing the supposedly offending file, no other files will go on. However, ‘Properties’ shows that about 2% of my card’s space is used by these pictures and there’s still lots of space left on the card.
I am trying to transfer them all at once.
I'm using brand new cards
The "Cannot create directory for " -- -- --" error message names a specific picture, but names a different picture each time.Its possible that you are copying all the files into the root (or top) directory and that is the cause of the problem (don't ask me why thats a problem - it makes no sense to me but I've experienced just that).
Try creating a new directory on the card, and then copy the files into that.
