Can I upgrade my Socket 478 cpu to a Dual Core =)?
I was wondering if I could upgrade to dual core CPU im running on a P4 2.8Ghz CPU and 2GB ram 400mhz DDR and HD 3650 AGP 512MB

Just about all mobile phone makers come out with mini or lite versions of some of their more successful upscale handsets originally meant for the high end markets. The marketing strategy is sound as it aims to extend market reach of these handsets even with a diminished set of features on a smaller body or a lighter price tag.
Sony Ericsson has done that lately, minimizing its superb XPERIA X10 that only the moneyed can afford at a SIM-free price of $478 now out at the Omio site.
Considered the most highly awaited Android outside of HTC, the X10's aura and mystique is unmistakable and Sony hopes that they get to rub off on a more average featured handset in its Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini while the X10 is still hot and popular.
About the only claim it has to being an XPERIA X10 is its Android 1.6 OS with the Rachel/UX (User experience) user interface and the same Timescape and Mediascape apps.
Features that Take Advantage of the X10 Aura while still hot
Other than that, unless you know it's an X10 Mini, you'd swear it's just another conventional touchscreen handset with features that are pretty much boring and par-for-the-course for a mid-price handset. But on its own, the Mini remains as capable as any that Sony Ericsson has in its stable of smartphones, Android or not.
At first glance, the Mini does inherit some X10 touchscreen appeal with a stylish monolith body measuring 83 x 50 x 16 mm and weighing a very pocket-friendly 88g that makes it one of lightest touchscreen to date.
The Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini will be arriving in the 2nd quarter of the year in six different body colors to choose from -pearl white, black, red, pink, silver and lime green.
For starters, you can forget about getting a 1 GHz Snapdragon processor on the X10 which would be overkill for conventional hardware features. Instead, you get a more suitable but less muscled 600 MHz Qualcomm MSM7227 CPU. It remains your basic quad band GSM/GPRS/EDGE phone on the 2G network as well as a 3G phone on the dual band UMTS with HSDAP/HSUPA.
There's hotspot support with Wi-Fi 802.11b/g and local data connectivity with Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP and microUSB 2.0. SatNav is likewise supported with a built-in GPS receiver with Google Maps.
From a stunning 4-inch screen, the Mini now sports a below-average 2.6-inch TFT display with a mere QVGA resolution, down from the X10's Wide VGA resolution. But at least it still uses the same capacitive touchscreen technology and a more brilliant 16 million colors to make up for the diminution in screen size.
It also comes with the usual gravity accelerometer and a scratch resistant glass cover. For imaging, you get another diminished feature. Sony prunes down the 8 megapixel camera of the X10 to a more common 5 megapixel shooter with autofocus camera, geo tagging and LED Flash minus the face/smile detection and image stabilization on the X10. Video recording is likewise pruned down from WVGA to another conventional VGA resolution at 30fps and video light.
128 MB is all you get after Sony lops off the generous 1Gb on board memory in the X10. But you still get microSD expandability for up to 16 GB. There's a standard lithium polymer battery the delivers a talk time of up to 4 hours, 6 hours less than the 10-hour talk time on the X10.
