4GB DDR2 Ram Memory Available to Buy at Auction Today
can the EMD620 (emachines D620) hold up 4GB of RAM?
i want to upgrade and it is only a one processor and i cant get the bottom off so that's kinda messed up as well.... if anyone knows how to get the bottom off and knows if it can have more than 2GB of RAM (DDR2 memory) plz tell me. i know alot about comps and if i could get the bottom off i would know, but i cant get the bottom off without taking the whole key bored off. thank you.
Some laptops take the keyboard or mouse pannel of to get at the ram.
32 bit os wont recognise more than about 3.5Gb ram and it may stuff your battery life.
Might be better putting in a faster hard drive, I just upgraded my lappy from a 60gb sata1 5400rpm to a 120Gb 7200rpm sata2 which makes a fair difference on startup and shutdown, suspend and resume.
I also use tuneXP and TCPOptimizer which also made a noticebale difference and are both freeware, non resident software so cost nothing and only use a little disk space.

If in unlikely even that you find the 6GB of RAM to be insufficient, you can upgrade the memory to maximum of 8GB. It runs on the 64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium OS.Other desktop models in the market with similar specs would cost at least twice the price of this Gateway model. This PC is designed for users who are looking for a straightforward, no-frills and powerful computing platform.
The Gateway SX2802-03 desktop PC ships with a CPU unit keyboard and a mouse. It also has a 16x DVD drive, a digital card reader, 9 USB ports, and supports 5.1-channel audio. For graphics, this model comes with an Intel GMA X4500 graphics processor. There is also a HDMI port to connect the PC to a HDTV.
