775 CPUs Articles and News
The cooling technology is soon heading up with more acquisitiveness today, coming closer to the noiselessness even in the area of CPU fans, when in the times the humankind is leaving behind the cooling mechanisms era. This now looks more apt as when the central processing units are themselves more evolving, calling for a need of cooling solution that balances the heat of the CPU by maintaining the silence and the high number of rotations per minute.
Gone are those days when the silent fans were exclusively considered for high-end markets. Today, there are solutions even for the mid-end and low-end markets. The Xilence technologies, which is a Taipei-based company has come up with new cooling solution called 4ALL.R3, which is exclusively targeted at the widespread usage on these two segments.
The Xilence technologies is a manufacturer of computer power supplies, fans, cases and cooling mechanisms for CPUs, GPUs and hard drives. Though it is a Taipei (Taiwan) based company, its branch office and the production facility are located in China, with two more branches in Germany and North America.
Coming to the technology, the 4ALL.R3, the dubbed cooling unit supports the Intel sockets LGA-775 and LGA-1156 and the AMD sockets AM2(+)/AM3. This is actually an entry-level unit specially designed as a replacement for stock-heatsinks. It looks like a small tower, with CPU contact base (that doubles up as a small heatsink) that use two copper heatpipes to carry heat to an aluminium fin block. And these fins are cooled by a 92 mm fan.
One can compare the performance of the CPU with the Buffalo Evercool of the OCZ Vendetta (that has the extra three DCHP as compared to 4ALL.R3 that only has two DCHP). These both do not co-incide with each other as they do not support the same well-ordered series of central processing units, so talking of competition is a distant matter. But both of them are similar on one major aspect and that is the performance and aim for the lower market segments, for which they are actually build.
