8GB Memory Stick Pro Duo in Sony W55 Camera?
I have just bought a 8GB memory stick pro duo stick for my DSC-W55 camera. I checked on sony's website any the memory stick is compatible. msx-m8gs is the card model number.
But when i put it in the camera and turn it on, it comes up access and then the camera turns off but the lens is still sticking out, like it does when it switches on.
I can't use any of the buttons and when i switch it on, i cant use them then either.
Does anyone know what is going on and how it can work?sounds like a problem with the camera, and not with the memory stick.
try removing the stick, and see if the camera works properly.If it does turn out to be the memory, you could try formatting the memory with the cameras menu,

I often write about the dual sim, import iPhone clones and keep blogs on several of them. So, I'm often contacted by folks who want to know which would work best for them. One common question that I've been getting lately is "is the i9 better than the P168?" Well, this is sort of a loaded question, because although these phones have many similarities, there are also some differences that are going to make a difference to some. Whether one or the other works better for you is going to depend on what you want in your phone. In this article, I'll describe how these two differ so that you can get a better idea of which one may better suit your needs.
Both Are Great iPhone Clones: In truth, if you're looking for basic iPhone clones, you can't really go wrong with either of these. Both allow for everything we've come to expect from these finger touch smart phones, like web browsing, texting, messaging, and emailing - as well as MP3 / MP4, Bluetooth, FM radio, digital camera and web cam. You can do everything with these phones that you can do with an iPhone, except that you aren't bound to one carrier.
And, these phones have a few extras that many value. They are dual sim, which means that you can have two phone lines or two plans. They are contract free, so that you can chose your own GSM carrier, and they have extra speakers, e book readers, and FM radio. So, for most people's basic needs, both phones deliver, but here's where the i9 is a bit of an upgrade.
What The i9 Has That The P168 Doesn't: The i9 has a few extras that make it stand out for some. It has more memory (up to 8GB), and it is slimmer, sleeker, and a bit faster. Also, it is a quad band as opposed to a tri band (like the 168). (Now, this is only important to you if your carrier is on the 850 MHZ band or if you travel over seas, but it is a difference.)
More, the i9 supports Java 2.0 which allows for third party apps. and downloads. And, both sims can be on line at once, so you don't have to switch back and forth between them. Finally, the 9 has the "shake and tilt control" feature which allows you to change media and music by shaking the phone. (Note: some die hard clone followers find this "shaking" feature a little weird. This is why many stick to the 168, because they consider it less of a novelty and more faithful to the original.)
So, Which Is Better? Which is going to appeal to you more depends on whether you value the upgrades in the i9. If you are looking for a basic, solid, and very cheap clone that is modeled very closely after the original, you'll likely be very happy with the 168. It's still among the best sellers and it still enjoys an almost cult like loyalty. It's a great phone. However, if you're looking for the newest model, like the Java and the shake and tilt, then it might not make sense not a pay a little bit more and get the latest version available.
