What is more important A Case Fan or a CPU fan?
I only have one 3 pin connector and no other connector so I have to chose. If I use the case fan it will be 2 inches apart from the cpu(the fan would be directed to the cpu) and should provide enough ventilation for the case.(this is how it was already)I am now upgrading to a AMD Athlon 64 X2 5600 Brisbane 2.9GHz 2 x 512KB L2 Cache Socket AM2 65W Processor and IDK if I should use the sole connector for a CPU cooler instead. Do you think I should use the only connector for a case fan as it was originally setup or should I use it for a CPU cooling fan?
I don't see any more free connectors from the power supply so that wouldn't be an option. It only has one 3 pin connector on the motherboard. The CPU fan is more important. But in your case, your mini ATX case tried to do a dual purpose by placing the case fan in a way it covers the area to the CPU. I'm also suspecting your original CPU is a 49W type (from your other question).
The CPU fan is more important here, but to supplement excess heat exhaust, you can add a pci slot fan as I saw your mobo does have one free. Make sure to add up the fans wattage to the other components to see if your current 108W PSU can handle it all. If it does, and you do decide to go with a pci slot fan, make sure its the type that can exhaust out, and not just circulate air internally.
