Building my own computer.. how would this setup go?
I think I'm going to build my own computer soon. I don't know much about it but my friends do and I want to learn. If anyone knows about what is coming out next and would suggest I wait a week or 2 lemme know. I have about 1400 to spend.

would this all work together?
Maybe the 8800 GTS?For the most part this set up should work fine, but you are missing one key ingredient - the video card. It looks as if you are putting together a very current rig with very expensive components. If by the way you can get all these items for under $1400, then you did some serious shopping homework and will be the man.
The motherboard you are purchasing does not have an integrated card, it is set up for a single PCI Express card, or 2 PCI Express cards running in SLI mode. This means if you want to run 2 Video cards, that they will have to be NVIDIA cards as SLI mode is their set up alone. If you have ATI cards then you will have to get a motherboard that is Crossfire ready.
Anyhow, a current video card will add between $250 and $500 depending on your budget. You may not need 4 GB of RAM, 2GB should work fine, so if there is a large price difference, I would take that route to save money.
I built my first PC about 8 years ago now and I will never buy another store bought computer again. You will get great satisfaction out of it the first time it fires up and it actually works. The down side is, you are your only tech support, so do your homework first especially on setting up the software for the first time.
