Asus Memory Cards Quick Tips
How do i overclock my ASUS Striker Extreme motherboard?
Motherboard: ASUS Striker Extreme
RAM: Corsair XMS @GB (2X1GB)
CPU: Intel core 2 extreme X6800
Power Supply: Thermaltake 620 Watts
Video card: ASUS 8800 GTS 640MBI also wanted to overclock my CPU, maybe my memory ram and video card.
Overclocking the motherboard is the key to overclocking the CPU. The way to perform an overclock is to change the speed of the FSB (front side bus). This will change the CPU speed and memory speed. Normally the process is as follows:
1. Raise the FSB by 5 MHz
2. Test the system stability (use an application that puts a heavy load on the CPU - Prime 95 for example)
3. Repeat
Once the system is unstable - crashes or locks up, you have 2 options: lower the FSB until the system is stable again or try to stabilize it by raising voltages, changing the memory multiplier or improving the cooling.
You have excellent overclocking components and you should not have any problem achieving a nice boost in speed.
There are many overclocking tutorials on the web, here are a couple:http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/cpu/display/newbie-oc-guide.html

Overclocking is safe and although I have seen no proof that it affects the life span of the CPU, seriously do you care if the CPU lasts 15 years instead of 20?

Asus Memory Cards Articles and News
Netbooks are so popular these days that everybody who is interested in gadgets either has one, or is planning to get one. With the latest developments going through into the most recent mini notebook computers they've become even more attracting for those who have been thinking if they want one or not.
2010 brings quite a few interesting changes on the netbook market. Intel is still the favorite choice of mobile processor by manufacturers and Asus is still the big dog on the market. The 3 best selling minis come from their garage and for good reasons.
Asus 1005PE-M
The most popular version sports a 10" screen. It has the most basic hardware with N450 central chip acting as processor, memory controller and graphic chip. This level of integration allowed Intel to shave off about 25% of power consumption in production netbooks, and with this ingenious design the 1005PE-M became capable of running for 11 hours on a single charge. The other components are fairly common, 1GB RAM and the usual 1024 by 600 10.1" screen. A 250GB Sata HDD takes care of the data storage department and you will find the latest wireless technologies installed with 802.11bgn. The price is just a whisker above $300, making this device an optimal choice for people with a more humble budget.
Asus 1005PE-H
It is a mystery how Asus managed to get more battery time out of their -H marked model than they have from -M. It has the same 1.66GHz processor integrated with graphic and memory controller, and the same amount of memory. Storage and wireless capabilities are the same except for the Bluetooth module, which appears in this model and is not available in the other. The battery time is even more shocking at a claimed 14 hours. All manufacturers tend to be optimistic about this figure, but Asus has not gone overboard when making their calculations, the unit can work for a reported 12 hours between charges. The price is slightly higher, but you will find the $360 to be money well spent on the extras.
Asus 1201N
The most expensive model of all three, but with the spectrum of luxury extras this netbook may win a few fans over from the sub-notebook category. The 12" screen gives a resolution more common to bigger notebooks; 1366 by 768 will be enough for all the basic tasks and then some more. The processor comes doubled, 1.6GHz Atom in two instances making multitasking even more fluid than before.Memory got doubled compared to the 1005PE series, but the storage is still only 250GB. Not that you will have serious problems with the capacity now that external USB hard disk drives are so cheap. The well-known Nvidia 9300m chip takes care of graphics so you will be able to run some more resource hungry games as long as you keep the quality expectations to the minimum. The price stays under $500 giving you 5 hours of productivity with one charge, and an ultra-portable laptop for all basic tasks.
