This process is complicated because MPEG-2 or MPEG-4 streams that are used need to be encrypted so that people cannot view the satellite programming without having a subscription.

When you set up your services with satellite TV provider you need to be hooked up to DVR receiver over the phone. This facility uses a phone in order to communicate with your system so that, you can get pay per view. The on-screen caller ID function allows you to see who is calling in your house right on your television screen.
